Board of Directors

The HAAEYC Board of Directors serve to plan, coordinate, and oversee activities and functions of the Houston Area Association for the Education of Young Children. The President-Elect serves a one-year term. All other board members, including the President and Immediate Past President, serve two-year terms. HAAEYC members at the Affiliate, Comprehensive, or University Student level receive, on an annual basis, ballots for election of officers and directors. Candidates for office are selected by a nominating committee chaired by the Immediate Past President. Nominees must be members and have prior HAAEYC committee participation. Nominees shall reflect the diversity of the organization.

Board Meeting Schedule

The HAAEYC Board meets the second Tuesday of each month at the HAAEYC office. Members are invited to attend. Please call the HAAEYC office at 713.781.2155 to RSVP the Monday morning before the meeting.

Office of the President

The 2011-2012 HAAEYC President is Mary Jane Gomez. Mary Jane has been associated with HAAEYC for many years and has served in various board and committee positions over these years. Mary Jane is the Director of Early Childhood for Houston Independent School District (HISD).
